I love this game! Already on the boss of the 4th world and the challenge is great (Thanks for the infinite lives option tho, I would NOT be this far in without it)
Only complaint so far is the fact that Flats' stomp attack has barely any room for error, it's impossible to dodge the falling debris without taking one hit most the time.
Apart from that, references are all on point, art is just great, and the music is nothing short of perfect!! I sincerely commend you for your excelent game design and accuracy to the NES limits and to what a Hummer Team game looks and sounds like
Every attack in the game from enemy to bosses have been tested to be completely dodgeable. Flat's rain attack is one of the tighter ones to figure out but there are intentional spaces that you can move to and not get hit.
Yeah, I ended up figuring it out after a few tries!! After that, I'm having problems with saving on the Patrick campaign, it always sends me back to the Thermal Tunnels... Anyways, I really enjoyed the whole first campaign, and that final boss was so satisfying to beat, great job here!!
After I got the game to work, I loved it, it was a fun time trying to beat the game
My only nitpick is that I don't like how loading after beating the game just sends you to the last stage. I wish there was a "stage selection screen" for regular stages so I can play any level I want without having to start a new game. I think you should put that in the next update.
I also with there was an option to exit back to the menu when pausing the game (maybe use ESC button or X when paused.)
I don't have any plans on anymore major updates to the game, but that is a good suggestion I'll need to keep in mind for next time.
Also the way how the game pauses is that EVERYTHING pauses, so I couldn't add any sort of options. Someone else suggested the same thing but understood why I couldn't once I told them.
The way how Clickteam Fusion builds games is really weird and specific to where Windows sometimes freaks out (likely the compression technique). This issue is somewhat known in the CTF community.
I've had people play it and tell me there's nothing wrong with the game once it's actually open. I've ran tests on the game as well as my PC and the results came up as nothing wrong. It shouldn't cause any issues outside of the initial false warning.
The fact that SuperSponge tracks are a part of this OST already makes the music part of this game the GOAT. Warning to anyone who wants to play this tho: Play with lives off for your first playthrough! This game is a challenge! (I'm SO HAPPY that's an option btw.)

You're not meant to use it in the same way as SpongeBob's Karate Chop, this is intentional.
SpongeBob's is a damage stacker while Patrick's is meant to be a finisher with some movement elements
I keep trying to download and extract this game, but my PC won't allow me because it sees it as an "unrecognized app" and a "virus", what should I do?

After excluding the file from McAfee (my antivirus), I was able to open and play the game.
I love the art being like the gbc spongebob game. Does this have controller support?
The game download comes with instructions on how to get a controller working
Oh my bad. Thank you. Gonna get it setup on steam deck.
I played the outdated version of this on one of my streams, it was hella fun, can't wait to check out this new version!
Also, LOVE the SuperSponge 8-bit renditions! So based!

SuperSponge has such an overlooked OST, I had to include some of the songs in the game.
Also that's why I added a Lives toggle, so more people can get into the game without getting frustrated by the concept of running out of Lives.
